Diamonds in the Sky - Digital Pattern
Instant Download pdf Quilt Pattern
Diamonds in the Sky is a geometric, paper pieced pattern with a diamond pattern that emerges as the quilt top is assembled. The cover version of the quilt was made from Kona Cotton Solids and Science Fair, both collections by Robert Kaufman.
This quilt is an advanced beginner to intermediate level pattern and assumes basic paper piecing skills. Detailed instructions for paper piecing may be found on many blogs and YouTube.
Each quilter has a different preference on the size of the fabric piece relative to the size of the paper pieced block section. It is highly recommended that you first make one block before cutting large numbers of fabric pieces to see if the fabric sizes listed fit into your comfort zone. The fabric amounts needed for the quilt will vary slightly if you decide to cut larger or smaller pieces.
A coloring diagram of the quilt top is included in the pattern to audition possible color schemes.
The quilt pattern includes instructions to make a baby, lap, and large lap sized quilts. The materials needed for the quilt can be found in the pictures above.
